2024 Hyundai Elantra Price, Reviews, Pictures & More | Kelley Blue Book (2024)

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra brings a certain style to the compact sedan class, along with a choice of variants. Pricing starts at $21,475.

Compact sedans are alive and well. For evidence, look no further than the 2024 Elantra. Now in its seventh generation (which debuted for the 2021 model year), the Elantra cuts an even sharper dash this year. In addition to the revised styling, the high-performance N model gets some tweaks to make it an even better sport sedan. In addition to sharp styling and a well-tuned N model, the Elantra gets the basic stuff right — such as space, safety, and reasonable pricing.

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid is reviewed separately.

2024 Hyundai Elantra Pricing

Driving the 2024 Hyundai Elantra

The 147-hp 4-cylinder base engine in the SE, SEL, and Limited doesn’t rise above the level of workmanlike. These variants ride comfortably, though, and they have the broadest appeal.

Focusing the lens a bit more, the N Line has a 201-hp turbocharged engine and sportier suspension, for a sparkier driving experience. The 276-hp Elantra N, meanwhile, turns that lens even tighter with the range’s most powerful engine.

We’ve spent hundreds of hours driving and researching the current collection of compact cars, including this seventh-generation Hyundai Elantra.

Roomy Interior

There are some subtle changes to the cabin of the 2024 Elantra, but they don’t affect the basic architecture. So although this is a compact sedan, it’s virtually as accommodating as a midsize car. This includes generous legroom in the back, plus an equally spacious trunk.

Revised Exterior

The Hyundai Elantra gets an aesthetic refresh for 2024. Comparing the 2023 and 2024 models, the latter looks sharper at the front with those thinner headlights and smaller grille. There’s an even more noticeable difference at the rear.

The Elantra already looked seriously sharp. If anyone thought that the designers had a bit too much time on their hands and didn’t know when to stop, we might be inclined to agree.

Our Favorite Features and Tech

Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto
This is standard in Elantra models with the 8-inch touchscreen, allowing users to keep their phones in pockets or purses. Higher trims come with a larger 10.25-inch screen but lose the wireless smartphone connectivity, featuring wired only.

Bluelink connected services
A free 3-year subscription brings features like remote lock/unlock, stolen vehicle recovery, open window alerts, and automatic collision notification.

Dual 10.25-inch displays
Higher trims bring a digital driver information display and a larger infotainment touchscreen, contributing to a more tech-rich cabin.

N Line turbocharged engine
The N Line bridges that gap between the so-so performance of the SE/SEL/Limited models and the driver-focused (and much pricier) Elantra N with a pleasing amount of pep and poise.

Hyundai Digital Key
Limited, N Line and N trims enable access by using a phone app with Android devices or a key card.

Leather upholstery
The Limited trim is the most luxurious 2024 Elantra and comes with leather seating surfaces as standard.

Engine & Transmission

Most versions of the 2024 Elantra compact sedan employ a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine making the kind of power that might struggle with the proverbial wet paper bag. It’s paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).

Fortunately, the N Line has a different drivetrain. It’s a turbocharged 1.6-liter 4-cylinder engine developing a punchier 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque, coupled with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

The engine in the Elantra N is a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder unit generating 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque from a diet of premium gasoline (the other engines are OK with regular).

Being an enthusiast’s choice, the Elantra N offers the choice of a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic. Every 2024 Elantra has a front-wheel-drive configuration.

5-Year/60,000-Mile Warranty

Hyundai has some of the best warranties in the business. New-vehicle coverage is for five years or 60,000 miles, whichever happens first, and powertrains are covered for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Safety

The Hyundai Elantra has been the recipient of the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) Top Safety Pick+ award, and it gets a 5-Star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Part of what makes the Elantra so safe is its generous list of standard SmartSense safety features like automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-keeping assist.

KBB Vehicle Review and Rating Methodology

Our Expert Ratings come from hours of both driving and number crunching to make sure that you choose the best car for you. We comprehensively experience and analyze every new SUV, car, truck, or minivan for sale in the U.S. and compare it to its competitors. When all that dust settles, we have our ratings.

We require new ratings every time an all-new vehicle or a new generation of an existing vehicle comes out. Additionally, we reassess those ratings when a new-generation vehicle receives a mid-cycle refresh — basically, sprucing up a car in the middle of its product cycle (typically, around the 2-3 years mark) with a minor facelift, often with updates to features and technology.

Rather than pulling random numbers out of the air or off some meaningless checklist, KBB’s editors rank a vehicle to where it belongs in its class. Before any car earns its KBB rating, it must prove itself to be better (or worse) than the other cars it’s competing against as it tries to get you to spend your money buying or leasing.

Our editors drive and live with a given vehicle. We ask all the right questions about the interior, the exterior, the engine and powertrain, the ride and handling, the features, the comfort, and of course, about the price. Does it serve the purpose for which it was built? (Whether that purpose is commuting efficiently to and from work in the city, keeping your family safe, making you feel like you’ve made it to the top — or that you’re on your way — or making you feel like you’ve finally found just the right partner for your lifestyle.)

We take each vehicle we test through the mundane — parking, lane-changing, backing up, cargo space and loading — as well as the essential — acceleration, braking, handling, interior quiet and comfort, build quality, materials quality, reliability.
