Ivan Forster
Former Sales and Marketing Director of Johnson Matthey Ceramics Division, incorporating Blythe Colours and Matthey Printing Products in the U.K and embracing Directorships of overseas manufacturing operations in Australia, Holland, France, Italy and the USA. Throughout his life he was actively engaged in various sporting pursuits, playing Hockey with the North Staffords Club, Cricket with Blythe colours and Swynnerton Park, but his keenest interest was in Golf playing off a single figure handicap for many years at Leek, Stone and Trentham Golf Clubs. During this time he became closely involved in the administration of Staffordshire Golf, having served for over 40 years as a member of the County Executives Committee, and he was elected County President for the years 1988 and 1989. In 1989 he founded the Association for Staffordshire Golf Captains which currently has a membership of over 400. He was a keen supporter and member of the National Trust giving time to voluntary work at Biddulph Grange Gardens, and as an advisory member to the local Downs Bank Committee.
